White House spokeswoman Taylor Rogers said Wednesday it is irresponsible to classify Energy Innovation as nonpartisan. Rogers noted employees of the think tank have donated to Democrats and worked with Democratic officials on climate policy.

Energy Innovation released modeling Friday projecting households in the contiguous United States will pay an average of $6,500 more for energy cumulatively through 2040 due to federal policy changes.

Rogers also stated lowering electricity prices remains a top administration priority. She said President Trump is unleashing reliable energy including coal and natural gas to reverse damage Democrats did to the grid.

Fox News, ABC, CBS and NBC suspended the White House coverage pool the same day, in protest against the new administration policy.
